White Organdy Embroidered Collar

Description:
Detachable organdy collar has scalloped edge finished in edge stitching; inside edge bound in bias tape. Embroidered cutwork decorates body of collar and at three points, evenly spaced along outside edge, are needle lace insertions. At one time collar gathered at shoulder points; one side remains gathered with hand stitches, opposite side flat with broken stitches visible. When flat, collar is large oval with two tapered ends. No commercial label.

Possibly made by Anna Snow & worn by Crystal Snow, donor's great grandmother & grandmother respectively. Preserved by Jenne / Kenway families.
