Description:
Three pound soldered coffee can (A) with friction fit metal lid (B). Silver color background with dark brown, orange and white print and design. Soldered side seam. Rolled and pressed seams at top and base of can. Metal strip missing around lid where can was opened with key. Remnant of can—opening key soldered to bottom of can.
Inscriptions: "CHASE &/SANBORN/VACUUM PACKED/COFFEE/DRIP/GRIND/THREE POUNDS NET WEIGHT" on front and back of can.
"Prepared Especially Fo/DRIP GRIND/DRIP OR GLASS COFFEE MAKERS" on lid.
"(diamond—shape)NAL" embossed on lid.
"Roasted, Packed and Distributed by Standard Brands/of California. Main Office San Francisco, Calif. Reg. U.S./Pat. Off. Copyright 1939 Standard Brands Incorporated" on sides of can.
"A.C. CO. 90A" on side of can

Can used by Thomas S. Parke to store gold concentrate sample. Sample dumped out and can donated to museum. Can likely used by T.S. & V.L. Parke and as a storage container after coffee used up ~ circa 1940.
