Description:
1912 calendar plate has white background with scalloped edge trimmed in gold. Art Deco designs in green (two shades), red orange and yellow surround calendar pages. Centered at bottom of plate in gold lettering are words: "COMPLIMENTS OF / B.M. BEHRENDS CO., / JUNEAU, ALASKA." In center of plate an illustration of a floral arrangement consisting of white and purple flowers, both with yellow centers, and green leaves. Printed on back in red is: "CARNATION / MCNICOL".
Notes:
Behrends Store was on 3rd & Seward in the Behrends Building.. They sold groceries, clothes & shoes at that time. Later they sold only clothes after selling shoe department to Ralph Warren who moved it to 200 Seward St. He sold to Stan Hudson & changed the name to "Hudson Shoe Store"
