Ham Radio (A) with detached battery pack (B).

A: Wooden box, painted gray. The front is blank. There are two metal latches which keep the lid closed over the box's base. One is located on the proper left side and one on the proper right side and attached to the exterior of the box. The proper left side of the box has a rectangular shaped hole which exposes a metal piece located inside the box. On the proper right side there is a small round hole along the front edge. The back has three metal hinges attached to the lid and the base. A vertical cloth handle is located in the center of the backside of the base section of the box. There is a paper tag attached to the handle with thin metal wire. Handwritten text on one side of the tag reads: "LISTEN DIAL \ 96 95 \ FOR 4668.5 \ LIVINGSTON AND COASTAL". (The numbers 96 and 95 are underlined and the number 96 is crossed out.) The other side of the tag is blank. Along the lower edge of the box is a piece of light colored cloth tape with text on it. There is blue stamped text which has the numbers 49 and three indistinguishable characters. Additional text is hand written in blue ink reads: "482 \ Batteries \ 3 — # 487 \ 2 — # 742 \ Dean WIlliams". Text handwritten in red ink reads: "FIGR". Top has three screw heads visible. There is a yellow "CARRY—ON BAGGAGE PERMIT" tag from Pan—Am airlines taped to the top. The tape is no longer attached to the top edge of the permit. The permit has a hole along one edge through which is a blue piece of string. On the front side of the tag there is the Pan—Am logo, an ID number "K7ELM", and a passenger's name handwritten in black ink reading "Dean Williams". There is other handwritten black text reading: "3 VOLTS (A) 135 VOLTS (B). On the back of the tag is information in three languages about the permit. The bottom side of the box has a circular hole in it through which a turnable black knob attached to the radio is visible.
Inside the lid is a metal speaker. The speaker has handwritten notes written on its face. There is a piece of paper with handwritten notes attached to the lid next to the speaker. Two cords with metal ends extend from the speaker. One plug into the main radio components. The other plugs into the detachable battery. In the base of the box is the main radio components. It is made of metal and plastic. There are various knobs, switches and faces on the top of the radio.

B: Metal box with two detachable sides held on to the main box with six screws each. One side is missing one of the bottom screws. Bottom has four circular feet. Top has a metal handle located at center. Below the handle on the face of the box is an electrical outlet. There is a piece of cloth tape on the top face of the box with typed text which reads: "BATTERY BOX \ (poo SFF Radio 3st, \ Mountain Rescue)". There are three tags attached to the metal handle. Two are attached with white cloth string and one with thin metal wire. One of the cloth string attached tags is just the top section of the tag and the body of it is missing. The other tag attached by a cloth string has black handwritten text which reads: "Juneau Ski Club \ Radio \ (& Power Pack) \ 3rd Cabin Tow". The other side is blank. The tag attached with metal wire has black handwritten text which reads: "DEAN \ WILLIAMS".
