Ladies' Black Felt Hat

Description:
Lady's hat of black wool felt with brim edged in pale blue velvet. Crown composed of four strips stitched together; brim composed of two pleated layers and tapers to nothing on sides. Black face veil basted to base of crown falling over brim to cover face, ends tied in knot in back. Head ribbon (inside) is black grosgrain with label at center back.
Inscription: Union label, blue & white: "NEW YORK / CREATION / 22"

Worn by either Elizabeth Madsen Thompson Warwick or her mother, Mrs. Streed, per Janice Taylor, granddaughter—in—law.
