Description:
11 inch stem with one inch curved mouthpiece inserted in pipe bowl. End of stem has cork covering. 1.75 inch upper section of stem is fabric or thread. Bowl has intricately carved design of lion figures and numerals "78" on side with swirl pattern on base. Wood coloring varies.

Pipe was used by Carl Kavander, a Finn, who came to the United States around 1900. It was apparently in his family since it was made in 1788. See documentation file.
