Description:
Black painted, broad brimmed, leather hat. Upward curving brim is longer and bends downward in back. Vertically ridged crown terminated in center with black painted crimped metal disc. Front crown is metal ridge with brass finish embossed with badge shape containing hook and ladder and fire hydrant. "FD" on red central circle. Front piece is leather attached with brads. Large white "2" is sewn to center with white "JFD" above against red. Inside has metal disc with marker's name and fabric liner and ear flaps.
Notes:
Donor is member of early Juneau pioneer family, who were well known as business owners.
