Description:
White painted metal Juneau bicycle license plate with black print. Two 0.5 inch slots on ends for metal strip used to fasten plate to bicycle. Black border around plate.
Inscription: "JUNEAU/68/19 BICYCLE 64"
Notes:
Purchased from the City of Juneau, used to meet license requirements and preserved by Mary Ann Parke. This is the 1964 bicycle license plate required in Juneau. Licenses were attached with a metal strap that ran through the plate and around the seat or handlebar stem. The strap had a locking seal which could not be removed once the license was attached to a particular bicycle. Licenses were purchased from the Juneau Police.
Washed with warm water and soap. Dried.
