Brown leather handbag.
Leather purse, opens at the top with a metal snap enclosure around the top rim. Knob type snap at top. Inside of handbag is lined with purple fabric. There is a small round mirror on a flap, sewn into the rim of the bag. Mirror is backed with leather. Leather strap attached to the top rim. Strap is lined with black fabric. The leather on the front of the bag is gussetted, with four pleats.
Notes:
Purse was found in the original attic of the house at 235 5th Street. The Bishop—Conn Apartments were built in 1914/1915. Believed to have been built by John Conn. Donor believes that the purse would have been put in place before the first addition to the house because the part of the attic where they were found would have been blocked off at that time.
