Title:
Women's Button Dress Shoes
Year Range from:
1914
Description:
Black leather women's button up dress shoes.
Shoes button on the side using 13 buttons that close the shoe from the top of the foot to above the ankle. Shoe tips are capped. Shoes are heeled. The inside is lined with a white canvas lining. Stamped on the inside of each shoe liner at top, ankle side is the following: "37—3 1667" A—Left Shoe
B—Right Shoe
Notes:
Shoes were found in the original attic of the house at 235 5th Street. The Bishop—Conn Apartments were built in 1914/1915. Believed to have been built by John Conn. Donor believes that the shoes would have been put in place before the first addition to the house because the part of the attic where they were found would have been blocked off at that time.
