Year Range from:
1975
Year Range to:
1982
Description:
Juneau Fire Calls Emergency Card.
Four white plastic cards riveted together on the top PL corner with a small brass grommet. Cards are printed on both sides. Top card is an advertisement for "Jack's PLUMBING & HEATING." On the back of the top card are printed emergency telephone numbers for the Fire Stations, Ambulance, Hospital, Poison Information Center, Rescue, Police Departments and State Troopers.
The second card lists the fire calls for the Juneau Fire Station. The third and forth cards list the fire calls for the Glacier Valley Fire Station.
Each of the cards has listed on it two columns, the column at PL indicates a series of horn blasts. The second column lists the neighborhood to which the horn blasts correspond.
Notes:
The fire stations were equipped with horns. When a fire was reported the horns would be blown in a pattern. Firefighters could use this card to determine where the fire call was and proceed to that neighborhood.
