Red Military Order of The Cootie Uniform, 1965

Description:
A — 6—inch by 10.75—inch cap, garrison style of red wool felt, has gold braid, white tassels, and embroidery: "JR. VICE COMDR. / GRAND/ / ALASKA" on reverse, "ALASKA / 4 / SOURDOUGH / M.O.C." in gold thread and four embroidered "Cooties".
B — 5—inch by 10.75—inch cap, garrison style, in red wool felt, has gold braid, two white tassels and "4 / SOURDOUGH / ALASKA" stitched in gold felt block letters; on both sides are 40+ pins including: 5—inch by 10.75—inch yellow butterfly with tassels.
C — 54—inch by 3.25—inch necktie in salmon—colored rayon has two .5—inch "Cootie" embroidered patch 5.5 inches from bottom.
D — 27.5—inch by .5—inch by 19—inch cummerbund in red satin weave, stitched to canvas liner on which is embroidered in red script: "L. J. HARJU". Three large hook—and—eyes serve as fasteners hidden under self fabric rosette. Falling from rosette are two ties in self fabric, in two lengths. Pinned to top, shorter, tie are six metal name tags with printed ribbons; four have medallions, one is missing a medallion, one has only ribbon. Two white tassels attached.
E — 21—inch by 23—inch vest in red rayon has yellow embroidery along outside edges and arm holes, large "Cootie" embroidered on back. Patch pocket on each front piece, fastener is "Cootie" frog closure. Numerous pins, patches, jewelry decorate front.

2 blank name tags on cummerbund & white cotton string on vest, removed, 9/15/2000. "C" & "D" taken to cleaners 9/22/2000.
