Greenish—brown wool garrison cap. Red cord outlines brim. On proper right embroidered in red, white, blue, and gold, Veterans of Foreign Wars logo, sewn—on patch in red, reads "LIFE MEMBER". Embroidered in gold: "V.F.W. 5559" Proper left embroidered in gold: "DEPARTMENT JR. VICE COMMANDER / 1966—67 / ALASKA". Inside has black leather band, gold rayon lining. Tag on proper left (white with black print) has "'7' / LOT & PRICE". Stamped on inside of band behind tag is "AUG 4 1966".

Preserved by L. Harju & donated by his wife, Joan Harju.
Leonard Harju belonged to the VFW for many years joining while stationed in Kodiak during the early 50's while in the Navy. He transferred to Taku Post 5559 after returning to Juneau in 1953.
