Small off—white cupel. Small piller of with impression to hold metals. Lots of chips around surface. The bottom is chipped with a large piece missing. There is a crack that runs horizontally around the bottom. There is a little button of material remaining in the bottom of the cupel.

Still contains the 'bead.' Made of bone ash.
At the end of the fire assay process, a small "button" of gold and silver alloyed with lead remains. This button is then heated in a cupel to drive off the lead. What remains, then, is a button of silver and gold.
