Long metal cylinder painted dark red with black printing down front "HANG ON STRONG HOOK CHEMICAL POWDER FIRE EXTINGUISHER CO." (CPE Co superimposed with in diamond with black radiating lines) "DIRECTIONS" (and how to jerk down and for use on flue fires) "DEATH TO GASOLINE COAL OIL..." "ALWAYS READY..." "NEW YORK CHICAGO TACOMA SEATTLE" "AMERICAN CAN CO. 69A" "CANCO" in oval impress on bottom. Exposed iron has brass colored coating lid with hinged pull/hanging ring has rolled edges impressed "PATOCT 1889".
Notes:
Removed from Zynda Hotel prior to controlled burning to widen Main St. about 1960 by donor. Zynda was built about 1914. Donor said it was hanging in a hallway.
