Description:
Cracked off—white plate with scalloped edges and green trim. Center of plate is transfer print of white mother horse looking out of her stall with her brown colt at a mother dog and 7 puppies. Dogs are standing on straw, with bucket of water behind them. Outside border is bold jade green floral or leaf motif. When plate is held up to light, green appears pearlized. Directly below center drawing is a gilt inscription: 'COMPLIMENTS OF / SCANDINAVIAN GROCER / J.H. RANDLE, PROP., / JUNEAU, ALASKA."
Back: Off—white & crackled. Strong crackling crack across center. Inscription: "D.E. MCNICOL / POTTERY CO. / EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO" in brown wavy stamp.
