Description:
A — Brass tripod with telescoping legs and U—shaped bracket designed for surveying instruments. Three black painted tubular legs extend to 48 inches in seven sections. Pointed metal knobs at feet. Rectangular chrome metal plate with hole in center hinged to cover plate over type of legs. Ball and socket swivel mount with tightening knobs holds removable U—shaped bracket, which is painted black and has two brass knobs.
B — 16—inch leather carrying case with leather shoulder strap. Case has snap closure on cover flap. U—shape pouch attached to upper part of case. Case tapers toward bottom. "BD Stewart US Geol. Survey" written inside flap.
Inscription: A — "ICA Akt. — Ges. Dresden" on chrome plate
B — "Wm. Ainsworth and Sons" on cover flap.
Notes:
