Compensating Polar Planimeter w/ Plush Case

Description:
A — 9 inches by .25 inch steel bar with scale marked from 5 to 36. Sharp point and finger grip at right, sliding scale attached with two white wheels geared together, marked in tenths, and various adjusting knobs. Unit painted black. Apparently for measuring circumference of circle.
B — 8—inch black bar with cylinder of weighted brass(?) 1 inch by .875 inch, with point extending from beveled bottom. Steel arm with knob extends from left. "BDS" scratched into bottom of cylinder.
C — 2 inches by 10 inches by 3.5 inches black cloth—covered wood case with purple plush lining fitted to instruments. Lid has two hinges and two clasp fasteners. Paper graph giving scale conversions glued to inside bottom. Line at bottom says: "Zurich the 17 July...1908...No. 10844. G. Coradi. B.D. Stewart, Juneau, Alaska".
D — 3.875 inches steel bar, scaled in inches from 0 to 3. Blue screw head and sharp point are at "0".
E — Brass screw/knob.
F — Folded piece of paper with typewritten notes on use of device.
G — Same with handwritten notes. (E,F,G are in Document File)
Inscription: A — "No 10844" inscribed on unit.
B — "Keuffel & Esser Co. N.Y." & "G. Coradi, Zurich Switzerland" on bar.
C—G — None
