Pair of Wooden Skis

Description:
Pair of thick solid wood skis with metal and leather bindings. Ski thicker at center where long metal plate with oval back edge is nailed into wood and adjustable section with wedge—shaped walls is attached with screws. Double strap of leather with buckle through slits at top of walls. On edge of ski, brackets on each side with downward facing hooks.. Latching device in front appears to connect to missing element that would go around heel of foot. Ski tips pointed for cutting crust. Metal edges screwed underside, resinous wax (klister) on underside. Northland decal in tips, "J.I.R.P." written near tips with marker, Underside has groove painted red. Tips on underside: "FIS MODEL /SLALOM DOWNHILL / NORTHLAND".

Klister wax is kind of wax available in gooey consistency from toothpaste—like tube. Red klister wold likely have been used in summer on icefield.
