Description:
Piece of wood 36 inches long, wider at center and tapering to blunt ends. Each end is enfolded in strip of metal which is riveted with two bolts on top and three underneath. Each metal end looped by 8—shaped metal loop open on one coil into hook. Center of wood wrapped crosswise with piece of metal which flattens to 2.75 inches wide on top and narrows to .625—inch diameter loop underneath. Wood and metal have been painted orange—beige.

Purchased from Roy & Marjorie Dawes at garage sale. Dawes guessed it belonged to his uncle Dr. Dawes who mined in Yankee Cove and also practiced medicine in Juneau.
