Description:
A — Rectangular mahogany—framed glass cabinet with sliding front door secured by screws, mounted on black painted glass—topped wood base with two black knobbed drawers. Brass fixtures hold two rectangular magnifiers. Brass bearings, star wheel, rods, and glass bubble level inside case. Adjustable brass legs. Engraving on inside brass disc and on numbered spoked brass wheel.
B — Square drawer with black knob with square wood piece with velvet to hold "c". Numbers in pencil.
C — Brass knob and shaft with ridged edge.
D—G — Glass disc pads, convex with central depression for legs of "a" to rest on.
H—I — Pan rests, brass discs with shaft with black disc mounted atop marked "R" & "L". Letters in pen and number engraved.
J—K — Metal tweezers with bone tips.
L — Metal tweezers.
M — Pan — metal disc with depression in elongated "lip". Two unnumbered brass yokes(?) with toggled weights.
N — Metal spatula with black wood handle. Engraved letters.
O — Camel hair brush with celluloid handle attached with wires.
P — Camel hair brush attached with metal to wood handle.
Q— Metal key for glass door.
R — Left drawer with black knob. Numbers and letter in pencil.
S — Mahogany box with lid, one brass hook missing. Contains seven brass cylindrical weights 1—20 grams; four brass weights 100—500 milligrams; eight white metal weights 1—50 milligrams; and two riders. Engraved letters.
T — Brass yoke— two cylinders, one with arms for supporting pan rests.
U — Rectangular small white lidded box containing two 1—milligram riders, lavender sealing wax.
V — Similar box containing seven 1—30 milligram riders, green sealing wax.
W—X — Small metal round lidded boxes:
W — with 1 rider.
Y — 10.875 inch by 8.375 inch by 2 inch rectangular—shaped unstained wooden box with loose lid[?]. Interior of box has two small rectangular pieces covered in velvet; screwed to one end is moveable piece of wood the same size. Also stuck to interior is small torn red bordered piece of paper.
Z — 10.875 inch by 8.375 inch by .125 inch. Written in pencil on lid is "Thompson Balance Co. Style 5 2225"

Notes:
Sent to donor's mother (Mrs. Mongale) in Juneau by her brother, Michael S. Hudson, in 1919 when he was in the Interior. Pieces still wrapped in Oct. 1919 Nenana Daily News paper. Hudson was manager of the Alaska Treasure Consolidated Mines in Douglas according to his card. May have been used by donor's husband, Olav Lilligraven, in his mining operation. Includes Hudson's (?) directions for setting up. Weights, etc. do not belong, per Tom Pittman USBM.
