Fox farm next box with lid

Description:
Rectangle fox feed house box made of chicken wire and wood. Side and top of box are constructed out of wood. Bottom and rear of box made out of chicken wire and wooden frame. Lid is missing from top of box. Front sliding door is also missing. Box has metal spring plate on floor of box that would release the sliding door closing the box. Two nails inside of rear of box, possible used to hang feed on? 6 or 9 carved on top of box.

"We built feed houses out of Alaskan lumber and placed them in 20 locations around the island. The feed houses were constructed in such a manner that they could be used as traps. This consisted of a false floor or pan that could be tripped and a sliding door would slam shut the entrance...feed house which was secluded under the spruce trees" p 26, Pioneering in Alaska: a true account by Ernest Weschenfelder
