Proportional dividers in a black case.
A — Proportional dividers. Made from steel. Object has two legs with adjustable points at either end. The legs are split into two rails in the top two—thirds of the instrument. In the middle, slightly above the center point is a thumb screw that acts as a pivot point. On one side the object has been etched: "USBM A—192." On this side is also written the word "CIRCLES." There is a scale oblong the two rails of the instrument. On the other side is printed: "LINES DIETZGEN — MADE IN U.S.A."
B — Black, oblong case with two metal snap closures. On the inside flap is printed in gold lettering: "DIETZGEN MADE IN U.S.A." Inside there is a cavity designed to hold the instrument. The inside is lined with blue felt.
Notes:
Object has a scale on both sides, transfers measurements from one scale to another and divides lines and circles into equal parts.
