Description:
Rectangular metal tobacco can with rounded sides. Red painted with light gray and black—edged yellow lettering. .75—inch by 6.5 inches broken blue paper seal runs from side to side, across top. Seal has "Two place or cancellation 2 ounces tobacco 2" printed in black ink and various decorations and portrait of John Q. Adams. Brand at top in black—bordered yellow lettering, above 1.5 inches by 2.375 inches light and dark gray oval portrait of bearded man [Prince Albert] in smoking jacket holding cane. Below is "CRIMP CUT" in black—edged yellow lettering and "LONG BURNING PIPE AND CIGARETTE TOBACCO" in light gray lettering.

Found in donor's attic. House probably dates from 1940 when it was built by Bert Ruotsala. Can probably used by Mr. Ruotsala.
