Boy Scout Shirt
Description:
Boy Scout leader green wool uniform shirt. Shirt has long sleave with two button breast pockets, collar, and button down front. Buttons are brown plastic round shaped with Boy Scout logo escribed on the front. Tag attached to back of neck has Boy Scout Seal reads Boy Scouts of America, The Official Boy Scout Seal. Smaller tag reads: Neck 15 1/2; Sleeve Length Reg.; Lot 572.

PR sleave has blue council shield shaped patch and blue arch shaped patch. Shield patch has blue background with big dipper constellation and eagle edged in yellow; arch patch reads S.E. ALASKA. PROPER LEFT sleave has 5 red and white patches that read "JUNEAU; ALASKA; 613".

PR breast pocket has green and red patch above pocket "BOY SCOUTS OF ALASKA". Attached around button is Order of the Arrow award. Award consists of red and white ribbon and sterling silver arrow attached at the end of the ribbon.

Above PROPER LEFT breast pocket star gold metal stick pin with round blue plastic backing with 10 on front. Pin represents 10 years of service as a Boy Scout leader. Bellow star pin, green and white ribbon award is pinned to shirt; gold coloured metal emblem of the Boy Scout crest. Award is Boy Scout Leader's Training Award.
Notes:
Donor's father Vern Harris was a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. He did building maintenance at the Eagle River scout camp, Dennis has some photos of the camp. Vern was scoutmaster before Dennis was in scouting..Bob and Don Pegues and other guys 10 years older than Dennis were in Vern's troop, troop #613. Order of the Arrow on the pocket is a scouting fraternity. Leadership award is green. Council patch is on right arm. Eagle River camp. Troop would cut firewood and wash cars. Vern passed away in 1978?
