Thatched Barnacle (Semibalanus Cariosus)
Description:
Chalky white shell is a tube open at both ends w/ base walls thicker & tapering towards top. Horizontal lines etched inside. Outside has porous surface w/ crevices & very small barnacles.
Notes:
Donor's label reads: "BARNACLE —Balanus cariosus (crenatus?) occurs at a lower level, can reach height of 4"
