Description:
Olive—drab canvas and steel backpack. O.D. cotton cord runs through brass grommets. Canvas bag with pack attached by cotton straps to metal rod curved to fit body. Bag has three deep pockets on outside, covered flap attached with leather strap and metal buckles. Large 17 inches by 14 inches double material flap is sewn to top to cover pack. Inside flap is zippered pocket. Zipper has leather pull. At top of pocket is stamped "AVERY 1943". Large leather pocket is rivetted over metal holder, sewn to top inside of pack.
Notes:
Part of estate of Aurthur Paulson (donated by son—in—law, Phillip L. Gray). Mr. Paulson came to Juneau after WWII. Paulson was avid "garage saler" and collector of old and secondhand articles. He loved to find and collect old things.
