A — .75 inch by 18 inches by 24 inches wood plane table, varnished traverse board with
B — 1.5 inches by 19.5 inches by 27 inches tan canvas case.
Eight thumbscrews on top. Round painted brass fitting on center bottom of board for attaching to traverse tripod (2003.58.026). "10578" & "P"—like symbol etched into fitting. Canvas case has self flap lid closed with two buckled leather straps. Black fabric label on flap "GURLEY / ENGINEERING INSTRUMENTS / TROY, N.Y. U.S.A.". Brown leather buckling shoulder straps sewn on back.
