Description:
Rectangular mural mounted with three—dimensional cast metal sculptures of fish, shrimp, and crab. Vertically divided into thirds: left third has seven shrimp and two fish, center third has three halibut, three large and six small fish; right third has three crab and seven small fish. Edges are finished with 1 inch by 0.125 inch metal strips attached with screws. Visible on front surface are the heads of bolts holding mural to 2—inch by 4—inch boards across back.
Notes:
Acquired by Juneau Centennial Committee. Mural shows rise and fall of tides in October 1880, the year and month Juneau was founded. Larger, different crab is replacement; original was stolen. Bryon Grove was the teacher.
