Description:
"Breast" drill has "V" shape base with 3 holes for screws or bolts to secure in position. 2 vertical metal rods hold horizontal round plate with hole in center and wheel with wooden handle. Extending above wheel is shoulder support(?) consisting of 6 inch vertical section topped by 9 inch slightly concave strip. Strip is covered with leather strap held in place with screws. Drill originally painted black.
Inscription: "Goodell—Pratt Company / Toolsmiths / Greenfield, Mass. U.S.A." on leather strap.
"American Manufacturing(?) / Greenfield, Mass., U.S.A." on outside of gear.
