Description:
Watercolor painting of a lodge.
Watercolor painting with lots of detailed pencil work of a lodge with a mountain view. Painting is an architect's rendition of a building. The center of the image depicts a lodge style building that sprawls in the general shape of a "V." At proper right the building has a large stone chimney and an arched stone entrance through which people are entering. The center section of the building has a stone chimney, three dormers and four sets of windows. the section of the building to proper left has two garage doors. There is a group of people in front of this section of the building. The background of the composition shows rolling hills at the base of steep mountains. There is just a bit of blue sky visible at the top, proper right.

The painting is signed at the bottom center: "LINN A FORREST 1944." There is a large white border around the composition.

On the reverse is a green logo from the manufacturer of the board: TYEE Illustration Board, Lowman & Hanford Co. Seattle Wash."
Notes:
May be Peterson Creek or Mendenhall River, but the building was never constructed. Possibly even a dreamscape that never existed.
