Description:
A platform scale used at a local pharmacy. It is composed of a wood base which has some decorative design to it, a marble top and metal mechanics that make up the scale portion which is basically a balance with either side a platform with removable trays. On either side of the wood base are stickers. On the left side is a sticker for a medicinal, "Fruit Lax". and on the right is a certificate from the Alaska Division of Weights and Measures approving the scale for use in 1939. In the middle of the trays is etched the company's name, "H. Troemner" and place, "Philadelphia" and a logo of an eagle. There is also a sticker on the underside of the scale, "McCorcle pharmacy 140 Seward St. Juneau, Alaska".
