Description:
Single stroke gong bell. Chrome plated 2.5 inches ferrous metal gong. Striker arm 2 inch metal strip with 0.375 inch metal striker formed on part of striker arm. Formed metal base has 2 .25 inch by 2.25 inch cover box over electric coils and 2 brass wire connectors with knurled nuts at lower end. Gong riveted to upper arm of bell base. 2 approximately 0.75 inch long wire coils mounted under cover box. 2 holes in bell base for wall mounting. Dirty white plastic—like wire insulation.
Inscription: On front of cover box: "MANHATTAN"

From collection of Thomas S. Parke. Bell may have been in original cabin T.S. Parke expanded into family home. That scenario would date bell in 1920s to early 1930s.
