Description:
a — 4 inches (not including knobs) by 3 inches by 1.375 inches and 23.5 inches long from strap to buckle. Small rectangular black painted object with glassed—over section at top. In glass section (backed by white) are series of numbers from 0—25 (gauge) and small needle in black. Nine small screws hold it together in back. Small red dot is near base.
b — 4.625—inch by 3.375 inch by 1.8125 inch dark brown rectangular case. Has flap in front that unsnaps in order to view face of gauge. Edges and corners are stitched. There is a brass face plate with name inscribed. Long leather strap attached has buckle on one end.
Inscription: "Blasting DuPont Galvanometer".
Notes:
Donor's father, Glen Oakes, was stockkeeper/wharfinger for A.J. Mine. Started at Treadwell 1913, then to A.J. 1916. Retired 1962. (Pat Oakes, daughter).
