Description:
A — Disk—shaped medal 3 inches by .1875 inches with wording around edge. Bas relief scene shows seated robed woman holding branch and portrait of Washington, Native in boat, steamship, cornucopia, rising sun and two men with pickax and ax. Reverse is wreath of poinsettias and iris with wording in center in decorative box.
B — 3.5 inches by .625 inch green cardboard box containing green velvet—lined pad; white ribbon at corner with wording.
Inscription:
A — "ALASKA — YUKON PACIFIC EXPOSITION — 1909 SEATTLE 1909".
B — "ALBERT HANSEN, SEATTLE"
Notes:
According to family awarded to Frances Caroline Brooks for large painting of sled dogs at Alaska State Museum which was entered at AYPE.
