Description:
White cotton tablecloth with blue and red border. Top proper right corner has blue and red husky head. Top proper left corner — Alaska's Flag poem by Marie Drake in red. Bottom middle symbol with Alaska and totemic decorations on top of red border. Cloth covered with red and blue map of Alaska with small drawings representing Alaska attractions: Alaska Flag, seals and whales. Bottom proper right corner has "Purchased from Russia in 1867 Purchase price $7,2000,000" in red box. Cloth signed and decorated in black ink by Evelyn I. Butler, Alice Horzig, Juanita Wilson, Edna Peterka, Elizabeth Masher, Eileen Utteeh, Ruth N. Reggll(?), Gertrude L. Weteel, Baranof Coffee Shop, and Alice Brandeburg, 148. Other signatures and drawings illegible.
Notes:
Cloth formerly owned by Juneau resident, Mary (Mrs. Abel) Anderson, who came to Juneau after working for the U.S. Government in Brazil. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson both died in Sitka Pioneer Home. Signers of the cloth were Juneau residents.
