Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "Mendenhall Glacier 1—9—66" in handwriting. The image shows a wide frontal view of the Mendenhall Glacier, captured at a flat angle. The glacier occupies the center of the image, from the middling area into the background. The adjoining mountain slopes can be seen at the left and right peripheries. Being winter, the Mendenhall Lake is frozen, and occupies the foreground leading to the glacier. Toward the lake's edge, the ice on the glacier is a deeper blue than it is farther into the background. This shot, while almost identical to the previous slide, is slightly tighter and shows less of the lake in the foreground. The number "9" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
