A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (brown with red trim). The frame is labeled "July 4th 1950" in handwriting. The image shows a parade float, decorated in red, white, and blue trim, with the text "Sprit of 76" on the side. The top of the float seems to replicate a Revolutionary War camp, with three costumed men, one with the white wig characteristic of George Washington and other contemporary officers. The costumed man toward the rear holds an American flag. Houses and low green mountains slopes are visible in the background. The number "9" is imprinted on the frame at the upper left.
