Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard Kodachrome frame (off white with yellow and red corner trim). The frame is labeled "Queen's Float 4th—59 Dodie Peterson + Princesses" in handwriting. The image shows a wide dirt lot, captured diagonally. At left there is a low brown building bearing a sign reading "F.M.S. Electronics Division." Parked cars surround the structure. The float from the previous slide is passing the camera, moving toward the left. The middle and rear areas are now more visible, with the front cab portion out of frame. The middle, where the rear passenger portion of the float adjoins to the front cab, is decorated with a large blue depiction of a flower. The rear portion of the float is also draped in blue and white textile, with a large silver star attached to the very rear. It appears to be sunken in, like the back of a pickup truck, with several women in gowns sitting at low angles peering over the sides (the left of which bears lateral text reading "Forget Me Not"). Sitting in front of the star is a woman in a dark cape, raised above all the others, presumably the queen, Dodie. The number "13" is printed in red ink on the frame at the upper left. Also bears the printed numerals "00052544" in black ink on the right edge, possibly a serial or developer's number.
