Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "Sturges[sic] Narrows 7/25/64 From Ferry Matanuska" in handwriting. The image shows a calm body of gray water, presumably the Sergius Narrows (between Chichagof Island and Baranof Island). The water occupies the foreground all the way to two far shores in the background. At left in the middling area of the image, there is a small rounded island, thick with trees. Beyond it is another shore, with low slopes, heavily obscured by fog. The number "3" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
