Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "Sturges[sic] Narrows 7/24/64" in handwriting. The image shows a calm body of gray water, presumably the Sergius Narrows (between Chichagof Island and Baranof Island). The water occupies the foreground all the way to the several far shores in the background. In the center background, there is a small rounded island, thick with trees. To its right is another shore (cut off by the edge of the image, so unclear if it's an island), also thick with trees. Beyond these is another shore, with a low slope, heavily obscured by fog. Details of a boat (from which the image was probably captured) are visible at each end of the foreground. The number "5" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
