Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "From Hermles[sic] — 4/6/64" in handwriting. The image shows a view of downtown Juneau from across the Gastineau Channel on Douglas Island. There are trees visible on either side in the foreground, with power lines cutting through the top of the image on the near shore. Across the water, the meeting of Mount Roberts and Mount Juneau, both under heavy snowcap, dominates the view over downtown Juneau, the view of which is shifted left from the site of the Federal Building's construction. Low structures dot the water's edge across the entirety of the far shore. The number "12" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
