On left side is a partial view of a building and sign —"E SNUG." Next is another building with sign partially visible at top reading "—G STOR—" with two men standing in front. Next building is "COONS DRUG STORE" Other small builidings are visible up the hill from these stores that look houses and possible a church. In the center of the photo on the street is a fire truck/cart with a sign that reads "YOU RING THE BELL WE DO THE REST" In the truck are buckets and a ladder on one side. Clear cut forest is visible at the top of the hill on the right of the photo. Also on the right edge of the photo is part of a log structure. Back of photo has numerous notes written in pencil. See image 2.
Notes:
From NGC_bob_1980—07—29_619:Coon has purchased the building and lot which formerly housed the Alaska Free Press, on Third Street directly behind his drug store. This gives him a lot 100 feet deep on the southwestern corner of Third and Seward. Dated February 16, 1893.
