A: Black and white photographic print of a man kneeling at the edge of a boat's deck. He is turning a hand powered drill. He is looking down at the drill. He is wearing shoes, medium—colored pants, a dark jacket and a dark colored hat. There is rope extending across the image from left to right. A section of an overturned liferaft is seen in the lower proper right corner. There is a handsaw lying on the deck between the man and the liferaft. Image has a white boarder around all four sides. Back has two sections of black paper and tape where the photograph was once attached to an album page. One location in the upper proper left corner and one in the lower proper right corner. There is a circular stamp located on the back of the image with text reading: "PASSED BY US BASE 1733 ARMY EXAMINER".

One location at approximately center in the middle of the print and one located along the lower edge at approximately center. Along the upper edge there is handwritten text in black ink which reads: "P—510 \ AL SCHUPP".
Notes:
The US AFF P—510 was an emergency rescue boat in the Aleutians during WWII. 11th Air Force bombed Kiril Islands of Northern Japan in 1943—1945. The 10th Emergency Rescue Boat was assigned to them to recover air crews ditched at sea. The P—510 was built in 1944 by Fellows and Stuart in Wilmington, California with two 1500 HP Packard Engines. It was 85 feet long. Its official description was an Offshore Rescue Boat stationed at Attu.
