Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "Salmon Derby Day 7—24—66 down Gastineau Channel" in handwriting. The image shows a section of the Gastineau Channel captured at a flat angle in an unknown direction, with fog enshrouded mountainous shores on either side. The water is slightly choppy, and there are several boats traveling along the channel, leisure craft, judging from their sizes. Two are close at hand at left, and there are more farther away in the background. A detail of the boat from which the image was captured can be seen at left in the immediate foreground. The number "2" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
