Description:
A photographic slide in a small cardboard frame (off white with red rear text "Color Transparency"). The frame is labeled "Golden North Salmon Derby Day — leaving June. 7—24—66" in handwriting. The image shows a section of the Gastineau Channel in the foreground leading to the shore in the middling area. The shore appears to be a section of downtown Juneau, this part characterized by lower lying structures under what is probably Mount Roberts, near the portion of Juneau built upon ore tailings. Along the shore there appear to be a number of boats moored, mostly leisure craft, with one sailing to the right of the image in the general direction of the camera. The number "1" is printed in ink on the frame at the upper left.
