Photograph of the sinking of the Princess Kathleen.
Black and white horizontal photograph of ship close to shoreline. Ship is located center in the photograph. Text is visible on the ship's side identifies the ship as the Princess Kathleen. Shoreline is seen in the lower proper right corner. Two smaller boats (life boats) are seen in the water between the shoreline and the main ship. One boat has a person rowing it away from the ship; the other appears to be attached to a rope that a person on the shoreline is holding. Two additional people are visible on the shore next to the ship's bow. Mountains in the background.
Notes:
The Princess Kathleen ran aground and sank at Lena Point in Lynn Canal, Alaska on September 7, 1952.
