Black and white photograph of a close up of float plane (sea plane). The image focuses on the middle section of the aircraft where the upper engine connects to the pontoon body and the wings. There is a three—bladed propeller on the front of the upper section. There are four men on the plane. Two of them are sitting on the center pontoon and neither are looking at the camera. The other two men are standing on the plane's left pontoon in front of the left wing. Both men are looking at the camera. In the background are the docks, buildings, and tree covered mountains. The photograph is of Wolfgang Von Gronau's around the world plane when he stopped in Juneau.
Verso has a stamped number "31" in the lower proper right corner in blue ink. Handwritten in pencil is the text "Francis —1 \ gordon \ John \ Cot —2".
