Description:
Black and white photograph of a float plane (sea plane) approaching a wooden aircraft hanger. The hanger has the text "Alaska Southern Airways" on its front and on a sign on roof line. The aircraft is viewed from the back. There is a rope extending from the back of the air plane to the lower edge of the image as if the plane is dragging something from which the photograph was taken. There are approximately nine men standing in front of the hanger. Other buildings, docks, boats and a tree covered mountain in background. Water in foreground.

Verso has a stamped number "5" in the lower proper right corner in blue ink. Handwritten in pencil on the back is also the words: " gordon \ John \ Cot —2".

The album belonged to William G. Brian Harland. He was a mechanic for Alaska—Washington Airways and Alaska Southern Airways. He was based out of Juneau.
