Description:
Set of seven (7) sample postcards from box (2014.11.034 A—B) used at Paul Bloedhorn's jewelry shop. These seven postcards feature photographs of the Yukon River in both Canada and Alaska.

A: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a landscape. There are hills and trees in the background. The foreground is filled with water. There are rock islands with trees in the water in the middleground. Text along the lower edge reads: "321. \ Five Finger Rapids Yukon River.". At approximately center along the upper edge is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A321" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". The text is upside down along the lower edge.

B: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a paddle boat on a river. The shoreline is rocky and tree lined. The boat has three levels and there are people on the bow of all three. Steam is being released from the stacks. Text on the bow of the boat reads: "WHITEHORSE". Text along the upper edge reads: "A82 S.S. Whitehorse in Five Finger Rapids. Yukon River." Purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A82" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

C: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a landscape. At center there is a waterway. On either side and in the background are rocky hills with trees. Text near the lower edge reads: "302. \ Yukon River below Five Finger Rapids." At approximately center along the upper edge is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A302" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

D: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of five (5) caribou swimming. The caribou are swimming away from the photographer. Three of them have antlers. In the lower proper left corner is text reading: "283. Caribou swimming the Yukon River." Near the upper proper right corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A321" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS".

E: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a landscape. There is water flowing between two areas of tree and grass covered land. There is a bridge in the background connecting the two sections of land. Text near the lower proper left corner reads: "Miles Canyon. Yukon River. Alaska." At approximately center along the upper edge is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A69" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". The number "69" is handwritten in pencil in the upper proper right corner.

F: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a landscape. There is a river with rapids in the foreground. In the water is a canoe with three persons traveling through the rapids. The person in the front has a paddle. The person at the center of the canoe is raising his hat towards the camera and the person in the stern is just sitting. The shoreline in the background is rocky and leads to tree covered mountains or hills. White text in the upper proper right corner reads: "323. \ Shooting Whitehorse Rapids." In the upper proper left corner is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A323" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". G: Black and white horizontal postcard. Front has a photograph of a landscape. There is water flowing between two areas of rocky tree covered land. Text in the water reads: "Miles Canyon at Whitehorse Y.T." At approximately center along the upper edge is purple text stamped on to the card which reads: "SAMPLE \ PLEASE ORDER BY NUMBER \ THIS IS NO. _______ \ Scenic Photo Publishing Co. \ 614 1st Ave. SEATTLE". On the line for the number is "A74" handwritten in black ink. One the back is black typed text reading: "SCENIC PHOTO PUBLISHING CO. SEATTLE WASH \ POST CARD \ CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". There are two black horizontal lines between the "POST CARD" and "CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS". The number "74" is handwritten in pencil in the upper proper right corner.
